Sports Enhancement Program

Our sports enhancement program is geared for individuals and groups who desire more advanced, structured exercise routines to improve within a specific sport or sports. This is a personalized, hands on program, designed using scientifically proven training methods. The key components of the program are sport specificity and training periodization.

Sport Specificity

Specificity is a major consideration when designing an exercise program to improve performance in a particular sport or activity. Training is most effective when resistance and agility exercises are similar to the requirements of the individuals' sport or activity in which improvement is desired. Exercises that utilize these joint movements are then emphasized in the resistance-training program. All athletes should have well-rounded training routines supplemented with movement exercises specific to their sport, this provides a training advantage and reduces the likelihood of injury.

Periodization

To promote long-term training and performance improvements, the program should include variations in training specificity, intensity, and volume organized in planned periods or cycles (periodization). The periods of periodization are preparatory, transition, competition, and transition periods (active rest).

The goal of this training program is to develop proper strength, endurance, and agility to improve in the sport of choice. This is a training program for athletes of various levels, ages, and sports. Due to the nature of sport specific training and periodization, the Sport Enhancement Program will be available in blocks of 10-12 weeks at a time, based upon the needs and goals required for the specific sport and athlete(s).

Video/Motion Analysis

Through the use of advanced motion software, we are able to breakdown any movement. In a sports setting, this is an amazing opportunity to be able to see yourself doing the motion and activity in slow motion, backwards, freeze frame, etc. Not only do we do the basic video functions listed above, be we can also do more advanced analysis such as In the Action, Simulcam and Stromotion.

In the Action

This tool is used for instant feedback and basic analysis. With the use of the video camera connected to the laptop, we are able to get instant basic analysis tools such as rewind, slow motion, freeze frame for the athlete to see right away. This way the athlete can see what is working and not working and how to help correct the problems. Instant visual feedback is a vital component to any successful athlete.

Simulcam

Using two separate video clips (either the same day or different days), we are able to superimpose one clip over the other for analysis. Using the image of the two movements overlapping each other, the athlete or coach is able to see how the movements vary, how the athlete movement is improving, changing, or what part of the movement that needs work. Also, many athletes like to have a video clip of the movement during times when they are doing well and the movement is correct. Then, when the athlete develops some technical flaws or is challenged by the movement, the athlete can be video taped again and use the two images to see the differences and how to correct what is wrong.

StroMotion

During certain movements, the path the object or athlete takes is vital to the success or failure of the athlete in that sport. StroMotion breaks down a moving object into a fram-by-frame sequence to highlight position and trajectory. For example, we can video tape a soccer player kicking a corner kick and freeze the ball as it moves along it's path to see what exactly was happening during the kick, where the ball went, where the players were at during the ball's travels, and the outcome of the play. This tool is great for breaking complex movements down into frame-by-frame pictures for easy analysis.

Personal Training

We also provide personal training to either individuals or small groups. This is more of a fitness-orientated program where the main goal is to become more healthy, stronger, and obtain overall better fitness. Personal Training is a personalized and individual workout designed by the trainer with your goals leading the way.
