Meet Our Staff

Beth Scalone, PT, DPT, OCS

Beth is a licensed physical therapist with over 15 years of experience in orthopedic and aquatic therapy. As the owner of North County Water and Sports Therapy Center it is her goal to provide quality one on one care to a variety of patients.

Since graduating from the University of Connecticut in 1991 Beth has belonged to the American Physical Therapy Association (www.APTA.org) and has achieved Certification as a clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy, by demonstrating specialized knowledge and advanced clinical proficiency in respect to orthopedic diagnoses. In January 2006 Beth graduated from Boston University with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

As a Certified STOTT Pilates™ instructor, Beth incorporates the use of Pilates basic principles and equipment into patient exercise programs to enhance their core stability and postural awareness. This method has been extremely successful in transitioning patients to a higher level of function and activity.

Mountain climbing, hiking, kayaking and adventure travel keep Beth busy when she is not at work. Her tallest climb so far was Mount Elbrus in Russia (over 18,000 ft).

kmorgan (10K)Kathleen T Morgan, PT, CSCS

Kathleen Morgan has been practicing as a Physical Therapist in an orthopedic or sports medicine setting for twelve years. Originally from Ohio, she obtained her B.A. in both Psychology and Education at Hiram College in 1991. In 1995, she graduated from the Physical Therapy Program at Cleveland State University. Continuing to follow her interests in fitness and exercise, she became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, C.S.C.S., in 1997.

Along with a strong functional exercise background, Kathleen, also utilizes a manual approach in designing individualized treatment plans for her patients. She brings to the clinic a strong background in evaluating and treating the upper extremity, with special interest in shoulders.

Kathleen places a strong emphasis on education, as she has been a clinical instructor for physical therapy interns as well as local high school students.

On a personal level, Kathleen enjoys running, surfing, traveling, and most of all showing her quarter horse.

Brooke Fellows

Brooke Fellows recently joined the North County Water and Sports Therapy staff as a physical therapy aide. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology.

Brooke has participated in soccer for the past thirteen years. While in college, Brooke has earned a scholarship to play division two soccer. Brooke is not only a participant in soccer but coaches a local club team. Over the past 4 years, she has had the opportunity to coach at junior varsity, varsity, and premier club levels.

Jan Ballard

Jan graduated from San Diego Mesa College in 1998. Over the last several years she has worked with a variety of patients with various musculoskeletal, neurological and medical problems. Jan has over 5 years of experience in aquatic therapy and is a certified clinical instructor for the Burdenko method. When she is not working Jan enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.

Margaret Heinzman

Margaret Heinzman is the Office Manager and newest addition to our staff. She is a graduate of Tacoma Community College and has earned an Associate's Degree in Medical Records Technology.

Having recently moved here from Washington State, Margaret brings with her many years of experience working in the healthcare field and a dedication to both staff members as well as patients.

When not at work she enjoys walking, hiking, and discovering the beauty of Southern California.
